SMOTC offers this foundation obedience class for all dogs who are at least 6 months old.  Learn how to train your dog to heel (walk) on leash with you, sit, stand, down, stay, and come when called. All lessons are based upon the American Kennel Club Novice Obedience exercises. The class is designed to help you teach your dog how to become a more enjoyable member of the family, as well as to encourage participation in AKC Obedience competition.  Vaccination records are required and must be presented the first night of class, but please DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG to the first night.  You will also need a 6 foot leather leash and an appropriately sized slip-type training collar. 

Children over the age of 12 are invited to train (with head trainer permission) as long as a parent or guardian is registered for the class AND REMAINS IN ATTENDANCE THROUGHOUT THE CLASS PERIOD.
